Welcome to Studio Noir

Studio Noir continues to offer the highest quality music education to our community in Long Beach New York and beyond.   Our first virtual classes began in March 2020 and have proven to enhance the lives of many across the United States as we learn to utilize and master new technology with our peers.

Benjamin “Benoir” Metzger is an award winning Long Island born performer both admired for his performances and community arts leadership skills.  His experience as a multi-instrumental performer, producer, and recording artist offer students great insight into the realm of the performing arts.   Ben loves what he does and it shows in the countless smiles of his students before, during, and after lessons.  Our staff has grown as well, with college educated teachers specializing in Brass, Woodwinds, Strings, Percussion and recording software.   Studio Noir offers specialized training for Guitar, Bass, Drums, Voice, Piano, Ukulele, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Cajon, Mandolin, Harmonica, Dumbek, Djembe, Bongos, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Recorder, Banjo, and beyond.

Our “Wee Rockers” program for toddlers (3 years and up) has been utilized in Summer Camps, Beach Clubs, Private Home School Curriculum and Birthday Parties.   Our learning knows no boundaries and although we utilize structure, we are constantly streamlining and adjusting our sails to the needs of our students for optimum enjoyment.

Recipient of the “Children’s Voice” Award by Project Challenge in 2015 along several Proclamations from Nassau County Officials and Long Beach City Council, Ben has recently been appointed to the Long Island Music Business Association Advisory Board (LIMBA) by Good Times Magazine publisher Richard Branciforte.

Studio Noir continues to offer in person private and group classes including the Tuesday night Long Beach Ukulele Orchestra which hit a high note performing at the Landmark Theater in November 2019.

Mystic Noir is a new show Ben hosts and produces weekly on Wednesday nights at 8:30pm via Facebook Live.  It is also re-broadcast to Optimum Cable Channel 20 on Thursdays at noon.   “Where Music Meets Spirituality…” is the tag line and the show focuses on his career of over 30 years with guests that include poets, musicians, visual artists, and healers.     Building up the community and giving back to the world is his “Life’s Work” and the show allows audiences an interactive inside look at the journey.
